Believe in yourself, that’s the message of our first poem. And, as we believe in poetry, we’ve even some more poems about belief! What can be better than poems about believing. All of our poems here are original, and you will find them only at Shadow of Iris. Please enjoy!
“Believe in yourself when nobody else does.”
—Mary J. Blige
Believe in Yourself Poem
by Justin Thyme
Believe in yourself when times are tough.
Believe in yourself when times are rough.
Believe, believe,
because what other choice do you have.
The glass is half empty.
The glass is half full.
You’ll make it or you won’t—
but if you don’t try
then you’ve already failed.
So believe me when I say,
you’ve got to try!
You’ve got to shake things up!
You’ve got to believe
in just the possibility—
you’ve got to believe in yourself!
Some may say,
there is no love in the world,
but if you find love in your own heart,
and if you give that love,
then you’ve shown that untrue.
You can’t control the world,
you can’t even control your feelings,
but the truth is there,
and you have the power—
to be the change you want,
and so I begging you, please believe—
Believe in yourself when times are tough.
Believe in yourself when time are rough.
Please in believe in yourself!
I believe in You Poem
by Amanda Lynn
Innumerable remarks—
censures
all moving in on me
telling me what to believe
about you,
telling me
you’ve lied
and cheated —
but when I see you
standing there in front of me
with your eyes so large
and with just a glint
of a tear—
I don’t care what they say.
I’ll take you in,
again and again,
and love you
all the more,
because
I believe in you.
I believe Poem
by Marya Ophir
I dare not name it
because to name it
would be to give it shape
but a lack of dignity.
So I breathe not a word
less I spoil this thing.
Saying nothing
keeps it
and holds it close
but this you should know,
I believe.
The Believe Poem
by Dustin Down
I’m falling away from God
while professing to be saved—
I’m sinful and weak, because
you’ve taken my heart away.
Without trial and
without error,
you’ve set yourself up
as a standard of purity
that diminishes me.
So you’ve lead me
to rejection and abandonment
of righteousness, holiness,
and cleanliness
into a state of purity so white
it blinds.
God is in my heart
but I am lost in the maze
of all the guilt you’ve heaped upon me;
But there is a love so fathomless
that though I’ve become a deep sea fish
down in the midnight blue
of eternally cold waters,
I still search for a warm fissure
rooted in the earth,
a gleam of light
that will let me believe.
“If you can’t believe in miracles, then believe in yourself. When you want something bad enough, let that drive push you to make it happen. Sometimes you’ll run into brick walls that are put there to test you. Find a way around them and stay focused on your dream. Where there’s a will, there’s a way.” ― Isabel Lopez
